5 Ways to Celebrate Valentine's Day

Tips & tricks that everyone can use this month

February 14th is just around the corner! Spread the love this Valentine’s Day by spreading time and connecting with the ones you love. Need some planning ideas? Check out these 5 ways to celebrate.

CLASSIC ROMANTIC

You know the drill! Nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like fancy dinner and drinks. Book your reservations early, or plan a menu to cook at home. Either way, you’ll be spending time with your loved one and bonding over delicious food and tasty treats. Afterward, take a stroll in the park, catch a movie, or go out for an after-dinner glass of wine to round out the evening. Try having (or cooking) dinner at one place and then grab dessert at a neighborhood favorite!

GALENTINE’S DAY

With the right planning and group of friends, your galentine’s day celebration will be a hit! Book a table at your favorite brunch restaurant or have everyone over to your place. The success is hidden in the details! Decorate, provide little heart-themed gifts, and bring on the champagne! This is your chance to celebrate with the women in your life that you love the most, including your best friends, close colleges and relatives. Pro-tip, if you’re hosting at your place create a photo backdrop for pictures. It will make the memories even sweeter!

SPREADING THE LOVE

Spend Valentine’s Day weekend showing others compassion. Volunteer in your community. Case and point, many senior centers host specific Valentine’s Day functions. From tea and cookies to an entire Valentine’s Day ball, discover what opportunities are offered in your city. Or, catch up with someone who could use a little extra attention. It could be a neighbor or relative. Stop by their place and bring a plate of holiday treats. You’ll be happy you did!

LOWKEY & LOUNGE

Since Valentine’s Day falls on Thursday this year, take a load off and spend the evening relaxing. Order your favorite take out, settle in to watch that new show everyone’s been talking about, and change into something cozy. Or invite a couple of friends or other couples over for an in-home movie night! Keep it simple with just popcorn and snacks. Bonus points if everyone wears their pajamas!

ADVENTURE-SEEKER

Doing something new and a little daring is a great way to create a spark this Valentine’s Day! If you’re looking for something active, try an indoor jump park or ice skating. If weather permits, a quick hike and pack a snack to share at the summit. Try a new activity, like a pottery or beer brewing class. Or laugh together at a comedy show. Your date might not be traditional, but you’ll be busy enjoying each other's company.
